See the Chair at the Central Coast Book & Author Festival!

Look for poet Kevin Patrick Sullivan and the Reading in Public Chair at the 9th Central Coast Book and Author Festival!

Kevin Patrick Sullivan will be sharing his poetry and if you persuade him, reading from the Chair!

Go say hello and sit and read in the chair.
(We will have a camera in the ottoman - so be sure to snap your photo!)

L I B R A R Y !

We are busy with our next art intervention:

Library! an extension of readinginpublic.com .

Library!
is a re-purposed newspaper rack converted into a traveling serendipitous book exchange, of sorts. More like a culture exchange. You may find a well worn paperback, a hardcover thriller, an artists' sketchbook, or an actual piece of art.

A venue for creative readers who care that reading is not a lost art.

Each lending piece will have a bookplate documenting its travels and borrower information. Borrowers are encouraged to leave an item for lending too.

Library! will be placed downtown San Luis Obispo starting in October. Look for it soon at Steynberg Gallery. http://www.steynberggallery.com/

We are looking for booksters who would like to donate a lending item to the collection. Please complete the form below if you:

An experiment in art goes seriously awry

By Ashley Schwellenbach

Only recruit the county’s most talented artists—those bored by landscapes, uninspired by the mundane, eager to liberate art from the customary shackles of stage and gallery. I began by sending a barrage of e-mails to anyone I thought might fit the bill.

And a teaser posted below for project #2.

Library! Or,

a teaser for Reading In Public project #2. We just got our stickers back from Frank at Linson Signs (hi, Frank!). Library! will be an honor system (take a book and leave one in its place) book exchange of sorts (Catherine insists it's more of a culture exchange) where each book will have a bookplate documenting its travels. Library! itself will start its journey at Steynberg Gallery on Monterey.
Due any day now...
